"I wanted to be as fast as I could during the first part of the session, because you never know if the rain will come even more, so I pushed very hard from the beginning. My first lap was very quick, my second was almost as quick but I slowed down because of a yellow flag. Then I tried to push again but the tyres were cold, so I came in, changed tyres and made another attempt. And this was my fastest lap. Probably one of the reasons for this result is that when we came here in February there was a lot of rain and we did drive all day in the wet."

Gabriele TARQUINI

"It was not easy for me in the first half of the session as I spun a couple of times. But in the end my car was good, I changed the tyres with just five minutes to go and I did a good lap. The weather conditions helped us a lot today, because in the dry it would have been nearly impossible to claim the front row for us. We owe this result to our fantastic engine. Not only it has the power, but is also very good in these conditions. To tell the truth it gives its best in such conditions."

Alain MENU

"It was tricky, very tricky and it was just a question of trying to go faster without making mistakes. It was very easy to lock the brakes and go off in every corner. It is true that I was fastest in last month's testing, but this doesn't mean anything. During one of my last laps I did a mistake at turn 11 while I was improving, but I realized that it was possible to go a bit faster. I made a final try and it worked."

Stefano D'ASTE

"We have done a good job during the morning practice and my car was really well balanced. The set up was good in qualifying and when I changed to new tyres I was confident, although I knew that in those conditions is a rear-wheel drive car you must be incredibly cautious. I was and managed to find the best line for setting the fastest lap. I'm really happy!"
