After 137 laps in the “Green Hell”, their BMW 320d crossed the finish line in 13th position overall, first in the S1 class and best of the diesel cars.

From their 47th grid position, Müller, Farfus and their Schubert Motorsport team-mates Stian Sørlie and Fredrik Ekblom soon moved up into the top-20 and then improved their position until the eventually were classified 13th, eleven laps behing the winning Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb, Romain Dumas and Marcel Tiemann.

On lap 7, Müller completed a lap in 9:33.033, setting the BMW's fastest time.

Another WTCC driver, Franz Engstler, claimed 4th position overall and victory in the SP6 class at the wheel of a BMW Z4.
