What the drivers said
Augusto FARFUS
"We did a lot of work between Estoril and here and gained some good results. The car has been fantastic here today. Tomorrow it would be nice to keep the lead at the first corner and fight with Alain (Menu) and Robert (Huff). This track is tricky and we know it will be tough because their cars are light as well. We were trying to save the third set of tyres but it was difficult because Alain was fast. Eventually we were lucky we did not need to use them."
Alain MENU
"I’m not sure if I’m disappointed, because two thousandths of a second is nothing and shows we are fast. Pole would have been better as last year I won the race from pole, and it is always easier for the rolling start. I had some problems with my first two sets of tyres in qualifying but I'm not sure why. I think there could have been a bit more to come from the car but it did not happen. Second place on a track I like is good but I am going to try for a win and see what happens."
Robert HUFF
"It was a great result for me today, especially with 46 kg of ballast on board. I was especially surprised with third place. We changed the car very slightly before qualifying and it seemed to work which is great. I came here thinking that with the ballast I would be happy to be in the top six and walk away from the weekend with eight or nine points but now I've got to change that goal."
Sergio HERNÁNDEZ
"The team has been doing a good job and the car worked well, which gave me my third consecutive pole. We have to be careful in the races because Corthals is close behind us and he is very fast here. This is a difficult track and it’s going to be two hard races."
