The participants

BMW, Chevrolet, Seat and four other renowned manufacturers compete in the FIA WTCC Manufacturers Championship. Works teams, and independent teams and drivers, also line up on the grids behind the wheel of super-fast cars from Alpha Romeo, Honda, Peugeot, Toyota and Volvo, amongst others.

The Manufacturers Championship is won by the manufacturer that has the two drivers who win the most points, with these points added together to clinch the title. There is also an Independents Trophy in which independent teams compete against each other for their own prize money.
